Description

As originally built the Sand Point lighthouse was a rather modest structure, consisting of a small one story residence and attached brick tower centrally located on it’s front facade. Today, the old lighthouse looks a bit more obtuse, thanks to the addition of a large covered porch along its south facade. The porch physically links the keeper’s residence to an adjacent outbuilding, creating the illusion of one large structure when there is in fact two.
